Why the Bondo?
So this week I decided to scrape off a big (9" x 3") ugly patch of Bondo and see what was hiding underneath. To my surprise, I can't see any damage. Why was it there? Maybe I will be able to see something when I clean it up the rest of the way and sand it down. I wish I had taken a close up "before" picture of this spot. So now there is one other spot with Bondo on it. When I feel it from the back side, it feels like there IS a small ding there. Maybe 1"x1". So why is there a square foot of wavy Bondo on it? I will try to take a picture of this one before I scrape it off.

The "$50 paint job"
In looking for inexpensive paint options on the web, I have found a lot about a technique using Rustoleum and paint rollers. It may sound like a joke, but from what I am seeing, it doesn't produce horrible results. The up side, it is really cheap. The down side... much sanding. And more sanding... and even more sanding. This might be the way to go since I don't have thousands of dollars to spend on a paint job for a Civic that I got for "free".
Here is a link to one of the first pages I found. Check out the pictures at the bottom of the page showing the end result. Also, look at the car three years later.

Some more pictures
Well, I am still considering my options and have not made much progress with the car yet. I have sorted out some of the pile of parts though. At this point, I am thinking that an electric conversion probably wont happen. Here are some more pictures though...
